About EURC

Circle built EURC as the euro counterpart to its dollar flagship USDC, and it has grown into one of the largest euro stablecoins in circulation. Originally launched as Euro Coin, the token is now issued in Europe by Circle Internet Financial Europe, licensed by France's ACPR as an electronic-money institution and registered with the AMF. Every EURC is backed one-for-one by euro reserves held in cash and short-term instruments at regulated banks. The redemption right is unusually direct for a large stablecoin: any verified holder, not just institutions, can redeem tokens for euros with Circle, provided they clear full identity checks and hold an EEA bank account. It runs natively across roughly ten chains, from Ethereum and Solana to Stellar and Base, which makes it a common settlement asset for euros in DeFi.
