About Stasis Euro
EURS is one of the oldest euro stablecoins still standing, launched in 2018 when the idea of a regulated European stablecoin was still novel. Issued by the Malta-based STASIS consortium, it was for years the largest euro-pegged token by circulation before Circle and bank-issued rivals crowded in. Each coin is backed one-for-one by euro reserves, with periodic verification reports meant to reassure holders, and verified users can redeem at par with the issuer. Its footprint is deliberately broad, spanning Ethereum, Algorand, Stellar, Polygon, Gnosis and Everscale, a legacy of years spent chasing wherever euro liquidity might form. EURS has never rivalled the dollar giants in size, but its longevity gives it a track record most MiCA-era newcomers cannot yet claim: a euro token that kept its peg across multiple market cycles.
