About EURA
Formerly agEUR, EURA is the euro stablecoin from Angle, a French DeFi protocol that rebranded the token while preserving the same contract address. It holds its peg to the euro through over-collateralization: users mint or redeem it one-for-one against supported crypto collateral at oracle prices, and the reserves behind it span tokenized Treasury bills and government bonds, Ether, Bitcoin and other euro stablecoins. Redemption is an onchain, protocol-level affair rather than a claim on a company, open without KYC, and a savings product lets holders stake EURA for yield. Angle has positioned it as one of the more serious euro-denominated tokens in DeFi, in a market where nearly all euro liquidity still flows through dollar pairs. It remains modest in size, a reflection of how little onchain demand exists for euro exposure relative to the dollar.
