Run by the online investment platform Fundrise, it is a venture-capital fund that holds equity in late-stage private startups, with a portfolio that has included names such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks, Anduril and SpaceX alongside fintech firms like Ramp. Unlike a traditional VC fund closed to all but institutions, it is open to retail buyers and listed its shares on the NYSE in 2026 to give holders a way to trade in and out. The appeal is rare access to pre-IPO AI and technology bets in a single vehicle; the risks are illiquid, hard-to-value private holdings, concentration in a handful of companies, and management fees layered on top.
