About Dollar on Chain
Long before Bitcoin layer-2s became fashionable, Money On Chain minted a dollar made entirely from BTC. Dollar on Chain launched on Rootstock as one of the first Bitcoin-collateralized stablecoins, letting holders lock rBTC into smart contracts to create tokens pegged one-to-one to the US dollar, with no bank reserves or fiat custodian anywhere in the design. A companion token, BitPro, absorbs the Bitcoin price risk so DOC can stay stable. Minting and redemption are permissionless: a user works directly with the protocol from their own wallet to create or unwind tokens against the BTC collateral, without KYC or an issuing company. Originally native to Rootstock, DOC has since extended to Arbitrum and Ethereum. It is a purist take on a dollar, valued by Bitcoin holders who want stability without surrendering to centralized issuers, and it remains modest in size.
