About Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund
Fidelity built FBTC to hold real bitcoin and let investors buy it like any stock. What sets it apart from most rivals is custody: rather than outsourcing to Coinbase, Fidelity self-custodies the coins through its own Fidelity Digital Assets arm, a capability few competitors have in-house. The fund began trading in January 2024 alongside the first US spot bitcoin ETFs and quickly became one of the largest by assets, helped by Fidelity's enormous retail and advisor base. Its price moves with bitcoin, minus a modest annual fee. The appeal is straightforward: exposure to bitcoin without the friction of exchanges, private keys, or self-storage, wrapped in a name investors already trust with their retirement accounts. As with any single-asset crypto fund, the ride tracks bitcoin's full volatility in both directions.
On MyRWA, FBTC trades tokenized across 1 on-chain venue - see the listings below.
