About RIF US Dollar
Built on Rootstock, the sidechain that brings smart contracts to Bitcoin, USDRIF is a dollar token backed entirely by crypto rather than bank reserves. It comes from RIF On Chain, a protocol developed within the IOV Labs family, and holds its peg through smart contracts that mint the token against collateral. Because the backing is onchain crypto, redemption runs through the protocol itself, not a company redemption desk, and the system leans on over-collateralization to absorb the volatility of its Bitcoin-based reserves. The project frames USDRIF as censorship-resistant money for saving, spending and sending in places where local currency or banking access is unreliable. It remains a niche, Rootstock-native dollar, tied closely to the RIF and Bitcoin world rather than the large multi-chain stablecoins that dominate trading volume.
