About Startale USD
Sony's blockchain ambitions run through Soneium, and USDSC is the network's first native dollar. Issued by Startale Group, the team behind both Soneium and Astar, the token is built on M0's shared stablecoin platform, which supplies the issuance rails and holds short-term US Treasuries behind it in bankruptcy-remote structures. Startale positions USDSC as the settlement layer for Soneium's DeFi and payments, pairing it with a STAR Points reward scheme for minting, holding or supplying liquidity, and passing yield through to holders. Direct minting and redemption at par run through the institutional issuer rather than an open retail window. It is a purpose-built, chain-specific dollar rather than a general-market stablecoin, tying its fortunes to the growth of Sony-backed Soneium and the broader Astar network it grew out of.
