About World Liberty Financial USD
No stablecoin carries as much political weight as USD1, the dollar token from World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture associated with the Trump family. The branding belongs to World Liberty, but the legal and financial machinery sits with BitGo: its trust company mints the token, custodies the reserves and stands as the sole redemption counterparty, holding short-term US Treasuries and cash-equivalent money-market funds one-for-one against supply. That redemption right is not open to the public. Only eligible BitGo customers with an account in good standing, cleared through AML and sanctions checks, can mint or redeem at par, leaving retail buyers to trade on exchanges. Since its 2025 launch USD1 has scaled into the multibillion-dollar tier and spread across eight chains including BSC, Ethereum, Solana and Tron, an unusually broad footprint for so young a token.
