About eSui Dollar
When Ethena's synthetic-dollar model reached Sui in early 2026, it arrived as suiUSDe. Rather than holding cash, the token stays near a dollar through delta-neutral hedging: crypto collateral is paired with offsetting short positions so that price moves on one side cancel the other, an approach Ethena pioneered with USDe. This was the first time such a synthetic dollar deployed natively on a non-EVM chain, launched by SUI Group Holdings with Ethena Labs and the Sui Foundation and seeded with a ten-million-dollar yield vault. The design routes minting and redemption through approved participants rather than open retail redemption, so most users obtain it on the market or through vaults like the one run on Ember and Bluefin. Holders can put it to work as margin collateral on Sui's order book and earn the underlying yield, making it as much a yield instrument as a settlement dollar.
