About Anchored Coins AEUR
AEUR made an unlikely splash in December 2023, spiking more than 200 percent within a day of listing on Binance before the exchange froze trading over abnormal volatility and compensated affected buyers. Behind the drama is a straightforward euro token from Anchored Coins AG, a Swiss issuer operating under VQF self-regulation recognized by FINMA. Each coin is meant to hold one euro, backed by reserves that any verified holder can redeem at par directly with the issuer, the strongest form of redemption right a stablecoin can offer. That backing was tested in 2024, when the failure of Swiss bank FlowBank stranded part of the reserve and briefly halted redemptions until Anchored restructured its custody, reportedly with Swissquote. AEUR remains a small coin, issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain, built to bring a compliant euro onchain rather than chase scale.
