Agora Dollar

The Agora Dollar arrives with a recognizable name attached: it was co-founded by Nick van Eck, son of the VanEck asset-management chief, and its reserves are managed by VanEck and custodied at State Street. Those reserves sit in cash, US Treasury bills and overnight repo, backing each AUSD one-for-one. Agora operates from Bermuda under a Class F digital-asset license, holding reserves in a segregated account. Direct minting and redemption at par are reserved for verified corporate and institutional customers with an Agora account, so retail holders rely on the secondary market. The coin has spread quickly across more than a dozen chains, from Ethereum and Solana to newer networks like Monad and Plasma, and Agora has since applied for a US national trust bank charter. Its wager is that institutions want an independent digital dollar with a familiar custodian standing behind it.
