About A7A5

Born in Kyrgyzstan but built for Russian money, A7A5 pegs one token to one ruble and backs it with deposits reportedly held at Promsvyazbank, a sanctioned Russian state bank. Issued by Old Vector LLC under Kyrgyz virtual-asset rules, it launched in early 2025 and grew quickly, with analysts at Elliptic and Chainalysis tracking tens of billions of dollars in transfers and flagging it as infrastructure for moving value outside Western-controlled rails. The token also accrues a native yield for holders. Ordinary users cannot redeem with the issuer directly; primary redemption runs through accredited agents and licensed brokers under KYC checks, leaving retail to buy and sell on the secondary market. Both US and EU authorities have since sanctioned the coin and parties around it, prompting delistings and access restrictions on major exchanges and some decentralized venues. It is less a payments experiment than a deliberate bet on ruble liquidity beyond the reach of sanctions.
