About Teucrium Wheat Fund

Getting exposure to wheat is awkward for ordinary investors, and WEAT was built to solve that. The fund holds wheat futures traded on the Chicago Board of Trade, and rather than owning a single contract it spreads across three delivery months, second-to-expire through the following calendar year, a design meant to blunt the roll costs and front-month distortions that plague commodity funds. Teucrium, a firm specializing in single-commodity funds, runs it as a commodity pool. Buyers use it to bet on wheat prices or to hedge, whether on tightening global supply, weather shocks or disruptions like the war in Ukraine that jolted grain markets. As a futures-based product it can drift from the spot price of wheat over time, and it generates the tax forms typical of commodity partnerships. It offers a rare pure-play on the grain.
