Hong Kong's home-grown blue chips fill this fund, one of the original country ETFs that launched back in 1996 under the old WEBS banner. It tracks an MSCI index of companies domiciled and listed in Hong Kong, which tilts it heavily toward financials and real estate: insurer AIA, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, and the big local property developers and banks. BlackRock manages it. Worth understanding is that EWH is not a bet on mainland China's giants; those trade through funds like FXI. Instead it reflects Hong Kong's own economy, its rate policy tied to the US dollar through the currency peg, and its property market.
