About State Street SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust

Nicknamed the Diamonds for its old ticker roots, DIA is the simplest way to own the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The fund holds the same 30 large, established American companies as the index and, unusually, weights them by share price rather than market value, a quirk inherited from the Dow's 19th-century design that gives a high-priced stock more sway than a bigger company with a lower share price. State Street's SPDR unit launched it in 1998, making it one of the oldest ETFs still trading, and structured it as a unit investment trust that pays a monthly dividend. Investors use it as a proxy for blue-chip corporate America, a more concentrated and conservative cousin to broad S&P 500 funds. Critics note the price-weighting is a dated method, but the Dow's brand keeps the fund widely followed and heavily traded.

On MyRWA, DIA trades tokenized across 2 on-chain venues - see the listings below.
