Fidelity Solana Fund

Fidelity's entry into the Solana market, FSOL holds the SOL cryptocurrency directly and aims to track its spot price, minus fees. It works like the spot bitcoin and ether funds that came before it: the sponsor buys and custodies the underlying coin, and each share represents a claim on that holding, so investors get price exposure through an ordinary brokerage account without managing wallets or private keys. Solana is a high-throughput blockchain known for fast, low-cost transactions, and the fund's value rises and falls with SOL's often volatile price. Fidelity, one of the largest US asset managers, custodies the coins through its own digital-asset unit. The fund listed in November 2025, part of a wave of single-token crypto ETFs that followed bitcoin and ether, giving investors regulated, taxable-account access to Solana instead of holding it on a crypto exchange.
