Investors parking cash for a few months without leaving the Treasury market use TBLL as a resting place. The fund holds US Treasury bills and notes with one to twelve months left to maturity, tracking the ICE US Treasury Short Bond Index that Invesco benchmarks it against. Because the paper rolls over so quickly, the portfolio's yield resets close to prevailing short-term rates and its price barely moves when the Fed shifts policy. That makes it a duration-light alternative to a money-market fund, backed by the full faith of the US government rather than commercial paper. Corporate treasurers, brokers holding idle balances and cautious savers use it to earn the front-end yield while keeping principal steady and money reachable within a trading day.
