Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is the business half of the old Hewlett-Packard, split off in 2015 to sell technology to companies rather than consumers. It makes the servers, storage and networking gear that run corporate data centers, and it has been shifting toward selling that infrastructure as a subscription service. Two things define its recent story: the AI wave, which has driven demand for the high-powered servers it builds for training and running models, and its large acquisition of the networking company Juniper, which deepened its push into the fast-growing market for data-center and campus networking. Based near Houston in Spring, Texas, HPE is a mature, lower-margin business that pays a dividend and trades at a modest valuation. The stock is a bet on enterprise technology spending and on how much of the AI-server demand it can win, balanced against the thin margins that come with selling hardware.
