About VanEck Gold Miners
Gold-mining companies, not gold itself, fill this VanEck fund, the largest and most traded way to own the miners in one ticker. It follows the MarketVector Global Gold Miners Index, a market-cap-weighted basket of firms that dig for and produce gold, with the biggest producers like Newmont and Agnico Eagle sitting near the top. Miners behave like an amplified bet on the metal: their profits rise and fall faster than the gold price because costs are largely fixed, so GDX typically swings more than bullion in either direction. Investors reach for it to magnify a bullish gold view or to hold a hedge that can outrun the metal in a rally, accepting sharper drops when prices fall. The fund launched in 2006 and charges 0.51%. Its sister fund GDXJ covers smaller, junior miners.
On MyRWA, GDX trades tokenized across 2 on-chain venues - see the listings below.
