Atkore

Pull electrical wire through a US commercial building and it probably runs inside Atkore conduit. The company is one of the largest makers of metal and plastic electrical conduit, along with the cable, fittings, metal framing, and support systems that route and protect wiring in buildings and infrastructure. Its customers are electrical distributors and contractors, so demand follows non-residential construction, plus newer drivers like data centers and solar installations that need a lot of conduit. Atkore was carved out of Tyco International in 2010 and went public in 2016. Its profits are unusually sensitive to conduit prices, which spiked during the construction boom and then normalized, making the stock a play on both construction activity and pricing. It is based in Harvey, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, and sells largely under brands like Allied Tube and Unistrut.
