Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF

The lithium supply chain runs from rock to rechargeable cell, and LIT tries to own the whole length of it. Global X's fund tracks the Solactive Global Lithium Index, a market-cap-weighted basket that pairs the miners digging up and refining lithium with the companies building batteries out of it, from Rio Tinto and other producers to Panasonic, Samsung SDI, CATL and BYD. That full-chain design ties its fortunes to electric vehicles and energy storage, the demand engines behind lithium. It is a concentrated, cyclical fund: prices boomed when EV enthusiasm ran hot and slumped when lithium gluts hit, so it swings with the commodity and the sentiment around clean energy. Global X launched it in 2010, making it one of the earliest battery-themed ETFs. Investors buy it as a single ticket on electrification.
