Run by former New York Stock Exchange president Tom Farley, Bullish is a cryptocurrency exchange built for institutions rather than retail traders, offering spot and derivatives trading with deep liquidity and a full-reserve model that holds customer assets one-to-one. It grew out of the blockchain firm Block.one and ranks among the top-five venues worldwide for Bitcoin spot trading. Bullish also owns CoinDesk, the crypto news outlet and index business it bought in 2023, giving it a media and data arm alongside the exchange. After years as a private company it listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2025. Regulation and the swings of crypto trading volume drive the business, since revenue rises and falls with how much digital assets change hands. It is incorporated in the Cayman Islands and courts professional and corporate clients.
