Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF

AIQ casts a wider net than most AI funds. Global X built it to track the Indxx Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Index, a market-cap-weighted group of developed-market companies that either develop AI and big-data technology or stand to profit from using it. That two-sided definition means the portfolio holds the obvious chip and hardware names, SK Hynix, Micron, AMD, Nvidia and TSMC, alongside software, cloud and platform companies like Apple, Alphabet, Broadcom and Cisco, roughly 90 stocks in all. The breadth makes it less concentrated and less volatile than a narrow pure-play AI fund, closer to a broad technology bet with an AI slant. Global X launched it in 2018, early for the theme. Investors reach for it to own the AI and data trend through a diversified basket rather than a handful of speculative names.
