About TOR

TOR was the dollar stablecoin of Hector Network, an Olympus-style reserve project on Fantom, and it did not survive the chain's unraveling. Its backing was tied to Multichain, the cross-chain bridge whose 2023 collapse froze and depegged a swathe of assets; TOR broke down with them, trading as low as around thirteen cents as the bridge failed. With its treasury gutted, the Hector community voted overwhelmingly to liquidate rather than rebuild, winding the project down and distributing what remained to token holders. TOR is not a functioning stablecoin now: it lost its peg, and the protocol that issued it has been dismantled. It is a cautionary example of how a stablecoin inherits every weakness of the infrastructure it relies on, in this case a single bridge whose failure took the peg with it.
