About TE Connectivity
Roughly every modern car carries hundreds of TE Connectivity parts, most of them connectors and sensors buried in the wiring. The company is one of the world's biggest makers of connectors, the small components that join wires, boards, and systems so power and data can pass between them reliably, even under heat, vibration, and moisture. Automotive is its largest market, which ties a big chunk of revenue to global vehicle production and to the shift toward electric cars, which need more and higher-voltage connections. It also sells into industrial machinery, aerospace and defense, medical devices, and the data and energy infrastructure behind cloud computing. The business began as Tyco Electronics, spun off from Tyco International in 2007, and took the TE Connectivity name in 2011. It is domiciled in Ireland and runs a deliberately diversified portfolio across those end markets.
