About Gyroscope GYD

Gyroscope was built around one worry: what happens when a stablecoin's backing itself breaks. Live on Ethereum since late 2023 and seeded by investors including Galaxy, GYD is fully reserve-backed by a diversified basket of protocol-controlled assets, at first mostly other dollar coins such as sDAI, USDC, and crvUSD deployed in conservative strategies. Those reserves sit in separate vaults so that one asset losing its peg is contained rather than contagious, an all-weather structure that lets a single vault fail safely. If the system ever slips under full backing, an autonomous mechanism leans on the healthy reserves and their yield to hold the price near a dollar. A holder's claim is an onchain claim on that reserve, redeemed through the protocol rather than a company. GYD spans Ethereum and Polygon and remains a smaller, engineering-led decentralized dollar.
